Get these quirky guys on your walls!

Firstly I have to apologise for being so quiet, I have had so much going on in the past 2 months, that it has been impossible to stay on top of everything, but slowly I am able to get back into everything now. One of the things that has been keeping me from you is a big move, which I am very excited about as it means re – decorating! Yay!

You know how much I love decorating and making for Lil M’s room, well at our new place she will have a whole rumpus room, so an even bigger space to get creative with. Naturally I’m already seeking out cool ideas, and then I found out about Mik Maks interactive wall stickers. What I find great about these is that not only are the illustrations quirky and awesome – definitely not your run of mill designs, they are based on nursery rhymes and have little story cards that you can share with the kids about what they see in the illustrations. This is great for me as Lil M is crazy about books and pointing out things at the moment, and I also love that this fab product comes from Australia. Created by 2 illustrators in Melbourne, they have close to 20 years experience in kids product design, graphics and illustrations and fashion, and I think that this idea rocks!

Check out their website here and combine some rad designs, with fun learning for your little ones!

Below are the designs available, all in various colour options, I have to say I think Miss Muffet is definitely my favourite!

Keep your eyes peeled as I’m back on track and have lots more goodies to share x

Custom prints for your little ones available now!

I absolutely loved decorating my little one’s room! It is a room, that the Mister and I put so much thought into, wanting to create a space that our little M would love to be in always. If you follow my blog, you will know that we love to adorn our walls with artworks, and we have done the same in the nursery. If you read my previous post Artwork for the nursery or me? I had posted the first artworks we put on her wall (it has since grown very quickly we have since added another 7 to the walls hehehe (one is Felt Tiger – DIY and the other is the Millesante’ illustration I did for her below).

But one of the prints I created for her room, before she was even born was this animal print with her name. Visitors always seem to comment on it, and since I put it up on the blog, again viewers have taken a liking to this print. I split the animals up and printed them customised with a friends 3 childrens names on them for a gift, and then I decided I would make them available in my Etsy store.

So available is the Lion available for purchase here

The Elephant is available for purchase here

And the Zebra is available for purchase here

So if you are looking for that extra special something for your little one’s room or for the perfect gift, check them out! x

Make me a felt tiger!

Meet Tobias the Tiger (I’ve been watching arrested development – If you have watched the show, Tobias the Tiger has no similar qualities to Tobias I promise! ahaha).

Tobias the felt tiger is a very easy and inexpensive friend for your little (or big ones) room. Even if you are not the most craftiest you will find this very to put together , as they are all very simple shapes, and can be done for any animal, just simplify them!

Start off with drawing out what you want to create – I drew out the shape of the tigers head, then drew in his face details using large shapes, I then used my drawing as a template to cut each piece out from my felt pieces.

Then I stuck all the pieces onto the initial face shape – use craft glue or double sided tape (which I used, as felt is very textured it tends to stick to each other anyhow). I then chose a bold colour for the backing which I couldn’t find large enough in felt in the colour I wanted (my tiger was to fit into a 23cm x 23cm box frame (I bought this Ribba frame from IKEA), so I used a very fine corduroy, and then I popped it into a frame… yes as simple as that, I really didn’t even need to explain it, see the images below of the shapes I used and how I put Tobias together!

Give it a go you will be surprised at what you can create! Have fun x
