Free printable Mother’s Day gift tags!

30 Apr

Mother’s Day is only 2 weeks away on Sunday May 13th (for most countries), why not add a touch of fun and colour to your Mother’s Day gift with a Muska & Elvis free printable gift tag!

I have designed the tag on 3 colours – dusty pink, light aqua and lavender – and come with both spelling of ‘MUM’ and ‘MOM’ to cater for everyone, all on the one printable sheet.

They are super easy, just download the pdf template, cut out along the dotted lines, punch a hole in the tags,
attach some matching ribbon, then attach to your gift!

These tags are 61mm x 108mm, all the instructions are on the template,
print out as many as you like!

Hope your mothers have a happy Mother’s Day! x

For the love of buttons!

23 Apr

How about buttons that you can eat!?

If you have been following my blog, you already know how much I love a handmade gift whether it be something you have designed/created (Personal stationery set) or if your not that way inclined, baked treats for hand made gifts ( Letter Gingy Bread Cookies, Christmas Biscotti, Cookies in a Jar).

Handmade gifts always have the personal touch, as you can custom make them for who your giving them to, and they are always made with effort, time and love.

I wanted to give a friend some extra love, and I’ve had a button shortbread recipe Ive been wanting to bake for ages from my Women’s Weekly Cookies Book which I adore, as its filled with a whole heap of easy and tasty recipes.

This was the perfect time to make them as she loves to sew!

The recipe is super simple (use any shortbread cookie recipe really), and all you need is an approx 5cm round cookie cutter, drink bottle lid and a bamboo skewer, below shows how to make the dough into buttons, you could also make these with gingerbread dough!

Pop them into an air tight glass jar, I printed the tag onto kraft card, and I die cut the little heart out, and used natural twine to finish the off the gift for a more rustic look! (as my buttons were not perfect, rustic they are hee hee).

Hope you have a fab week x

Line your baking tray with baking paper, put a level tablespoon of dough into the round, and push down with a teaspoon to create perfect circles.

Use a drink bottle lid to make the inner circle imprint.

Then use the bamboo skewer to make the buttons thread holes!

I just had to tell you right this very moment…

18 Apr

Have you ever been caught up in a moment, and had to tell someone right that very second exactly how you are feeling? Or do you ever have feelings that you have to write down just to get them out?

We all do! I’ve created stationery for friends so that they can write letters that they will never ever send, I’ve created greeting cards from people who weren’t even born yet (Nubbie), and Ive created notecards from animals who cannot write nor speak (Muska my mini Schnauzer writes notes to those who he adores and thanks them for dog sitting and treats hee hee), a written message in any form from the heart no matter who it’s from, always puts a smile on someones face, and freezes those emotions/feelings forever.

I’d like to share with you my letters that won’t be read for a very long time…

Pending the arrival of my Millicent, I knew that the moments she was born we would have a flood of emotions and feelings and I didn’t want to forget those, and I also wanted Millicent to also share it with us. So in January before her birth, I designed 2 letterheads, so that the Mister and I could each write her a letter and tell her exactly how we felt first time meeting her and our first moments with her. Of course in my mind these were to be written the day she was born, but in reality the last thing I could do, was write heart felt letter that day. But as the days/weeks went on, the letter was written and I kept adding little things, like pps. you make the funniest noises when you sleep you sound like a raptor dinosaur! I think I’m up to pppps. by now.

Either way these 2 letters will be sealed and kept and given to Millicent at a time when she can value them the most, and share in the joys we had on her arrival into our lives.

So far she will have many little messages to read as she will also have her origami message cranes to pull open one day from her baby shower (previous post here). Lucky girl! x

This card is 105mm x 148mm and will fit into a C6 envelope (which is a very common rectangle size). Print out as many as you like!
