Panelpop-ing!

21 Jul

Last year while down in Melbourne, the Mister and I came across Panelpop gallery on Brunswick St in Fitzroy, we fell in love the unique look of how the artworks and photographs were presented. The outer wooden frames are recycled timber rescued from landfill – when you buy a piece they will hand write where the timber came from. The artworks are then printed onto a smooth stone surface, or timber itself, the process itself gives an artwork its own unique look. We’ve purchased a few pieces since we first stumbled across the gallery, and on our most recent trip to Melbourne we actually got 2 of our favourite photos that our lovely friend Marissa from the Simple Things Studios took of us earlier this year and the result was awesome, the reproduction of the images suited the photographs perfectly, cant wait to get them up on the wall.

The first piece we bought by local artist Drew Funk – Owl Shepard

Our next piece I bought as part of the misters 30th bday presents was another from Drew Funk – Origami God

And on our most recent trip when we picked our photographs we bought this one which I instantly fell in love with through the window – Ghost Patrol – Small Ones
