If you follow my blog you would know that the other day I revealed that this year is the first year in a long time that we will be putting up the tree and decorating. I really wanted to make some fabric Christmas bunting, but I have so many projects on the go right now and trying to fit them in around Lil M and it’s only 4 weeks until Christmas I put it aside. But as I was going through supplies I have to decorate our star (one of the on going projects) I found off cuts of red card, and I always have an abundance of kraft card (I buy this stuff constantly by the ream baby ahaha) and an abundance of bakers twine, I thought I could make a simple bunting in little time (in under an hour it took in fact!).
It is super simple and I’ve even made a template you can print here for the bunting backing and the hearts and stars, so no excuses! Download template here.

Firstly cut an A4 sheet of kraft card into quarters
Score/fold 1cm from the top (this is where you will secure the backing to twine later)
Using the template cut in the peak at the base of the card
Using the hearts and stars template, use them to trace around onto your red card, then cut out
Glue the hearts and stars onto the centre of each backing piece
Turn your backing over and place double sided tape over the top edge where you scored and made the fold, then place the bakers twine (or ribbon or string whatever you like) in the crease of the fold and then fold the edge over to secure the twine in place. Make sure you leave a good length of twine on the outer edges as you will need this to tie onto something wherever you will hang it. Then place each backing alternating starts and hearts, a backing card length of space between each other until you have no more.
Then voila! Done in under and in under an hour! I did 10 pieces and that made quite a long bunting, you can make it as long or short as you like. Have fun! x

Love this – will defo be doing some of this!
